One thing about This Island Earth mystifies me. Was Jeff Morrow naturally gifted with an abnormally large (and, for some reason, unnoticed by humans) forehead or was he a Metalunan predecessor of the Tefal iron man of the 80's?

Looks like Max Headroom to me.Rex Reason had obviously seen some strange looking people not to notice Morrow's forehead though !.

Check out The Creature Walks Among Us for another Morrow/Reason sparring.

Has anyone else noticed they list This Island Earth as being in widescreen!!!

Check out the remarks tab. Is this not the first ever widecreen release of this film?
I'm sure the recent R1 is full screen

No thank god ! .I've never seen either of the Creature From The Black Lagoon sequels so I really must pick up the Legacy Collection (Along with the Invisible Man/Mummy ones to complete my Universal Monsters bar Abbott & Costello)Mystery Science Theatre 3000 a truly overrated & completely unfunny series had Revenge Of The Creature & This Island Earth as supposed examples of bad sci-fi

I love the old universal Mummy & Invisible Man films.

The Creature from the Black Lagoon sequels went out on BBC2 many years ago. I think they are re-making the original.

John Landis was going to remake Creature I think at one point. The Invisible Man were excellent & are among my favourites .The Invisible Agent was hugely enjoyable but I've not seen it for years since it was last on Channel 4 with the rest of the series.

I love the old Universal films too. The Universal Studio Monsters Classic Collection still stands proudly in my VHS section today. :D

September at the BBFC has been dispiritingly bad. Here's hoping distributors have something more interesting lined up in October. Still waiting for news of Killer's Moon.

The Warner release I have of From Beyond The Grave is compatible with region 2 locked machines as I tested it on my X-Box 360 which only plays region 0/2 dvds.Where did you order the Fox set from Tim as I could not see it on Play USA ?. (even the Fox Midnite Movies are not listed as I really looking forward to seeing Don sharp's excellent Witchcraft again.)
